RCNI Press Release 19 February 2007
Child Protection Referendum wording to be launched
Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI) today welcome the government’s announcement that they will launch the wording of the referendum but warn that there is undeniable urgency in passing this referendum from a child protection point of view. They call on the government to set the legislation before the Dail without delay and thereafter to name a date before the next general election.
A full RCNI press release will be issued after the 12 noon government launch of the proposed legislation.
Notes:
The RCNI is the national forum of Rape Crisis Centres, which provides a strong voice for survivors and is a catalyst for social change to end rape and all forms of sexual violence.
