An experience of sexual abuse can be isolating. You will find free advice and support in your Rape Crisis Centre where staff can help you in different ways depending on your needs. Whether the sexual assault has only just happened, has happened a while ago or you are being sexually assaulted by a partner or someone you know or you are experiencing sexual harassment, a Rape Crisis Centre can provide support and counselling for  you. It is important to realise that the trauma of a sexual assault may have both short and long-term effects on your life. Telling someone what happened, being allowed to speak about it and being believed can help you to look at how the sexual abuse has affected you.
