National Rape Crisis Statistics

RCNI National Rape Crisis Statistics are compiled using information collected by 13 RCNI member Rape Crisis Centres on the RCNI database. These statistics reports aim to give voice to all the women, men and children who access Rape Crisis services throughout Ireland. The figures are a partial reflection of the time and work that Rape Crisis Centres put into providing services to people affected by sexual violence.

RCNI provides training and expertise to all Rape Crisis Centres using the RCNI database. In accordance with internationally recognised best practice the data entered and the analysis of this data is independently verified by statistical experts. We are working to include more agencies in the national system. The RCNI data collection system is also being used by Rape Crisis Scotland.
